Harvard Foundation for the International Medical Relief of Children

We are part of a non-profit on a mission to bring improved healthcare to communities across the globe.

Areas of Focus

Health Education and Advocacy
We aim to serve both the Boston area & the global community, working to spread awareness about common healthy practice, preventative practices & illness management.
Medical Drives and Fundraising
The club fundraises for international trips and FIMRC Adopt-a-Projects. Medical drives aim to provide medical supplies and medications to FIMRC clinics abroad.

Volunteering Locally and Abroad
Over Spring Break, our chapter embarks on a volunteer abroad experience at a FIMRC project site. We also encourage long-term commitments to the clinics through summer internships.

50+ Individuals Served

Harvard FIMRC funds a wide variety of initiatives at our partner clinics abroad in addition to annual service trips

Adopt-a-projects

Adopt-a-Projects are one of the unique ways FIMRC allows passionate individuals to become involved with FIMRC’s mission without traveling. Here are some initiatives we have funded and are planning to fund!

Pharmacy and Clinic Supplies ($700)

This project focuses on fundraising for the pharmacy at project Alajuelita to ensure the ability to provide medications for populations who cannot otherwise access them. (source: FIMRC HQ)

Health Agents Program ($300)

We fully funded this weekly educational program for youth in the Dominican Republic at Project Restauración. Topics included general health, mosquito-related diseases, nutrition, hygiene, sexual health, and leadership.

Clean Water Initiative ($700)

This Adopt-a-Project initiative helped provide water filters and clean water to underserved families in Nicaragua, and will be funded by proceeds from our Dare Challenge.

New Mom Kits ($650)

Each expecting mom at our partner clinic was given a "new mom kit" that included basic supplies needed for newborn care such as clothes, blankets, thermometers, diapers, nasal aspirators, baby toys, and other essentials.

Cardiologist Visits ($520)

This project covered the logistical costs of preparing for cardiologist consultations to our partner clinic in the Dominican Republic. We funded this project in the Spring of 2020.
